AURESIA’S BIOGRAPHY

With musical roots as diverse as the world’s music lovers, Montreal’s Auresia effortlessly blends unique pop sensibilities with the soul of reggae and salsa, always keeping herself free to innovate and inspire.  A singer, songwriter and guitarist, the Edmonton raised musician of Ukrainian descent has been singing and charming audiences from the age of three.

Listening to her mellifluous silky voice, intricate melodies, beautiful harmonies and eclectic mix of Caribbean, soul, Latin and Pop flavors, which are perfectly blended with empowering and even eco-conscious lyrics, it doesn’t take long to reach the conclusion that Auresia’s sound is most certainly diverse.  It’s no surprise then she’s honored the Reggae Xclusive Award in 2014 for top singer and was nominated for Favorite World Artist at the 2010 Independent Music Awards and for four awards at the Canadian Reggae Music Awards.

Following her five-time nominated self-titled debut introducing the world her sweet and silky style of Reggae, her more upbeat world- pop sophomore LP “RISIN’!” includes tracks with various world-class producers and co-writers such as Omar Martinez (Co-writer of Justin Bieber’s song ‘Pray’), and David Beatty (Producer of Nelly Furtado’s ‘Folkloric’ album) and was dedicated to Love in all its forms.  Auresia’s acoustic world- rhythm album & third release- -“RAíCES” is a musical gem about going back to her roots musically and spiritually. Recorded in Havana, Cuba with 100% organic instrumentation including double-bass, horns, flute and various Afro-Cuban percussion,  it has some of the best musicians she had aligned with on it including Mauricio Gutierrez (Havana D’Primera) and Ukrainian -Canadian violin prodigy Vasyl Papaduke (Christina Aguilera), and it impressively blending traditional sounds of afro-cuban rhythms, roots reggae, flamenco and bossa nova with Auresia’s folk-pop lyrics and melodies.
Now, Auresia goes back to her native Ukraine to showcase her unique musical stylings on her fourth record – ‘KORINNYA’ (meaning ‘roots’ in Ukrainian).Combining her love for roots reggae music with that of her roots and heritage, ‘Korinnya’ is an extension of her essence and creation, embodying traditional Ukrainian instrumentation such as Bandura (65 string instrument from the 6th century) and Cimbalom (dulcimer).  It was recorded, mixed and mastered at some of the top studios; including Shpytal Records ( who produced songs by Jamala) in Ternopil, Ukraine, Zvuko Tsek in Kyiv, Ukraine, in Havana, Cuba with Carlos Rafael “Mozart” and mixed and mastered in Canada with stalwart musical engineers TQ (Francis Hudson) @ Penthouse Sound & Ryan Morey @ Ryebread Mastering (Arcade Fire). Featuring some of Ukraine’s top musicians-Roman Kucherenko (Sunsay) on bass guitar, Denis Shvets on drums, and Marina Krut (EuroVision & X-Factor semi-finalist) on bandura, Korinnya artistically expresses Auresia’s love for traditional Ukrainian instruments and creatively intertwines sweet pop melodies with deep tropical roots grooves.

“AURESIA IS ONE OF MONTREAL’S TOP REGGAE TALENT.  HER MELODIC VOICE AND ORIGINAL STYLE STAND HER APART FROM THE REST.  SHE WILL BE CREATING BIG WAVES WITH HER NEW TUNES”
